Delicate “ice” veins, a unique ceramic glaze cover this shapely teapot. Known as “ice pieces” traditionally, this porcelain glaze was developed in the 12th century for the imperial court. Fired at 1300 F, these pieces forms as the molten glaze meets the cool air, crackling like ice. Burnish brass handles contrast warmly against this cool teapot. Tea brewed with this teapot is the balance of fire and ice— hot tea brewed by ice.
