What is Ver té?

Our story begins with our name— Ver from latin for true and te or tay from the original word for teatrue tea.

Ver té puts the focus on true teas and tea as a way of living mindfully. We celebrate the natural beauty of single leaf teas (unbroken, whole leaf teas) and the rich craftsmanship of Asian tea culture, while adapting it to our contemporary world.

Unlike conventional teas, single-leaf teas are premium tea leaves that maintain their natural shape and the unique taste of their terroir, while maximizing their health benefits. Our teas are more than just a healthy beverage, with each brew we look to create little moments of “poetic zen” for each person, a pure, quiet pause during our otherwise hectic and saturated days. A moment to clean our mind, a moment to clean our body.

What are Single-leaf Teas?

Single-leaf teas are defined as unbroken tea leaves that maintain their natural shape and natural taste with no added flavoring. They are often single-origin, embodying the specific taste of their unique terroir. As a result, single-leaf teas preserve the natural integrity of the tea leaf, maximizing their flavor and health effects.

Quality single-leaf teas are also single-origin, embodying the specific taste of their unique terroir.  Ver té’s teas are sourced from small scale producers using traditional methods. We work with closely with our tea framers and craftsmen to bring the most natural and flavorful single-leaf teas to the world.

Why Ver té?

Ver té puts the focus on true teas and tea as a way of living mindfully. Our philosophy is clean mind, clean body. Clean body starts with premium single-leaf teas— pure whole-leaves from the Camellia Sinesis tea plant, with no added flavoring. Great quality tea requires careful attention to the leaf as the reservoir of flavor and health. They are often single origin, embodying the specific taste of their unique.

Working with small-scale tea farmers, our teas are carefully curated for health, taste and history. We individually package our teas to take the guess-work out of tea portioning as different teas have different serving portions.

Teas are nature’s gift to us, they require the careful balance of the elements with centuries of human craftsmanship. A good tea tells a story, we ask you pause and listen, for a few minutes, to the poetry of that tale.

Ran Xu

Founder

Ran’s passion for tea began through the arts and travel. As a former diplomat for the United States, she has lived and traveled throughout Asia over the past 15 years. A daughter of an artist, tea first drew Ran in through its beauty- whether its the misty mountains and clear waters of its habitats, the elegance of teaware, and the poetry of tea spaces, and the respect with which all those who touch it give to a humble plant- tea thrives in beauty. Since then Ran has traveled to the original habitats of many tea cultivars to understand their true natures, and to listen to the poetic zen that lies at the heart of tea.
